14K Petal Ring with Pearl
“Life is a stream
On which we strew
Petal by petal the flower of our heart;
The end lost in dream,
They float past our view,
We only watch their glad, early start…”
– Petals, Amy Lowell
Hand-carved and shaped by hand, a delicate gold petal gently props an Akoya pearl above the surface of the jewel. The edge of the petal subtly curls inward, embracing the pearl and drawing attention to its soft, luminous luster. Each curve and irregularity is intentionally preserved, allowing the warmth of the hand-carved gold to sit in quiet contrast with the smoothness of the pearl.
There is a sense of movement within the piece—as though the pearl has just landed upon a drifting petal, suspended for a fleeting moment before continuing on its way. Carefully considered proportions create a delicate balance between form and space, giving the design a feeling of motion even in stillness.
Inspired by the quiet beauty of petals and the ephemeral moments they represent, this piece is a small study in softness, balance, and impermanence. Sculptural yet intimate, it celebrates the beauty of something caught briefly in time—a gentle reminder to notice what is here before it drifts away.
